DIY: Beaded Epaulet Top

Things you need for this DIY:
❂ a shirt
❂ 2 beaded epaulets $8
❂ 6 sew-on snaps
❂ a needle and thread

Total time:
1.5 hours

I loved Taylor And Demolish's Head Piece DIY, featured here last week, so much that I had to make my own creation using these beautiful embellishments.

First, trim the extra tulle around the epaulet.

If you are one of those people who do things like take your clothes to the dry cleaners, then congratulations, you are a better man than me. You can skip the snaps and sew the epaulet directly on the shoulder of your shirt. If you still have a dirty wedding dress hanging in your closet from three months ago, you probably want to do what I did. That way, you can unsnap your epaulets and throw your shirt in the washing machine. You can also add snaps to other embellishments and switch it up.

Start by sewing half of a snap at the top-middle of the epaulet.

Then add snap halves to the bottom corners

When you've done that to both epaulets, sew the complimentary snap half to the top of the shoulder. I attached it where the seams formed a "T", next to the collar.

Snap the epaulet to it.

Then use the epaulet to measure where the other two snaps should go.  Repeat on the other side.

Don't you love it when you don't have to wear jewelry, cause your clothes are so bling-y?
